CURRENT AFFAIRS :-

1. The Oil India Limited (OIL) commissioned India’s first 99.999 percent pure green hydrogen plant in the state of Assam. OIL, the second largest national production and exploration firm commissioned the green hydrogen plant at its Jorhat Pump Station. The plant has an installed capacity of producing 10 kg of hydrogen each day. It is also India’s first plant to use AEM (anion exchange membrane).


2. NPCI International Payments Ltd (NIPL), the international arm of NPCI, has entered the UAE market by partnering with NeoPay, the payment subsidiary of Mashreq Bank. BHIM UPI service has been made live on NeoPay terminals.This partnership will offer Unified Payments Interface-based payments for Indians travelling to these regions. This is NPCI’s third such international expansion after Bhutan and Singapore.


3. Vijay Kumar Dev takes oath as Delhi's new State Election Commissioner.


4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 21 April 2022 conferred the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration, 2021 for Best Performance in the implementation of Promoting excellence in sports and wellness through Khelo India Scheme to Bishnupur District of Manipur.


5. The Additional Director General of Police for Ladakh, SS Khandare, has inaugurated Ethosh Digital's first IT Training and Services Center in Leh. Ethosh Digital is a California-based Multinational Company, working in the field of digital communications and AR-VR products.


6. World Earth Day, also known as International Mother Earth Day, is celebrated every year on April 22. World Earth Day 2022 will mark the 52nd Anniversary of the day since it started being observed in 1970. Earth Day was renamed officially by the UN in 2009 as International Mother Earth Day.


7. Defence secretary Ajay Kumar launched INS Vagsheer, the sixth Scorpene-class submarine under Project-75. It is named after the sand fish, a predator of the Indian Ocean. The Mazagon Dock has already delivered four Scorpene-class submarines under the project to the Indian Navy – INS Kalvari, INS Khanderi, INS Karanj and INS Vela. The fifth submarine ‘Vagir’ is under trial at sea, and is set to be commissioned before the end of this year.


8. ‘Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit 2022’ was organised by the AYUSH Ministry to seek investments into the sector and to develop India as the hub for traditional medicine practices. It is organised in the city of Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (Ayush) Ministry has received Letter of Intent (LOI) from 28 companies amounting to Rs. 6000 crores. This will help create over 5.5 lakh jobs across the country.
